After months of planning and previous visits to ports, in order to offer the best experience to our clients, the day for our first Latin American cruise to set sail finally arrived.

Rio de Janeiro was a totally new experience. The city, like its imposing Christ of Corcovado, welcomed us with open arms. The culture, the language, the customs, and its magic, are indisputable proof of why Rio is a world gem.

Upon arrival, and during the course of the trip, we met several of our beloved travelers who, like us, were excited and ready to experience one of the biggest New Year’s Eve parties in the world.

On boarding day, there was a bit of rain, so we modified our plan to receive our couples, allowing us to get the party started with no setbacks. Our itinerary called for a night in Rio, and then we would begin our navigation towards Copacabana, where we would witness, from a privileged location, the countdown and the largest fireworks display in the world. More than 15 minutes of excitement and sparks illuminated Copacabana Bay.

Our tour of the Brazilian coast began by sailing for two days with excellent weather. The pool parties were, without a doubt, some of the best we’ve ever had, both in atmosphere and weather. Likewise, the evenings were amazing; the sensuality in the passengers’ attire was absolutely on fire, making the first three nights fly by.

In Punta del Este, Uruguay, we enjoyed a long stopover, in which we were able to live the nightlife while enjoying a day full of activities and tours, before continuing our journey to Montevideo.

Like all of our destinations, this one was not far behind. With a wonderful climate and easy access to attractions that were meters from the port, Montevideo enticed most passengers to debark and explore this picturesque city that predicted what awaited us in our final port, Buenos Aires.

The days and nights of celebration never decreased in intensity. The sensuality and atmosphere in the discotheque, playroom, bars, and restaurants on board was unmatched, something that can only be experienced on a Desire Cruise.

Our arrival in Buenos Aires caused sensation since we were the first cruise ship of this category of travelers and concept, causing television stations and the press to take notice of our presence, making this maiden voyage through Latin America even more special.

Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina await us again in 2023. We will have new ports and experiences to discover; so, don’t get left on land.
