We are aware of everyone´s concerns surrounding the COVID-19 and the possible impact this may have on our May sailing. Original Group/Desire Cruises is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our clients and, of course, our staff. We continue to work towards offering you a safe, healthy, and outstandingly fun cruise.
We have received some calls regarding Azamara’s new cruise with confidence policy. Please note that their program applies only to individual bookings on a regular Azamara sailing; this new policy IS NOT extended to chartered sailings. Due to contractual obligations that the cruise line has in place for charters. We must follow a different set of policies related to cancelations and refunds. Azamara does not allow cancelations of a charter unless the cruise line directly cancels the cruise or it is government mandated; therefore, at this time, Desire Cruises cancellation policy remains in effect as reflected in your confirmation letter.
Azamara is implementing rigorous and enhanced preventive measures, including the following:
- Thermal scans for all embarking guests, crew and visitors. This check involves a non-contact device which detects body temperature in a few seconds.
- Anyone presenting a temperature of 100.4 °F/38 °C and above, will go to secondary screening.
- Providing hand sanitizing gel at boarding and throughout the voyage in all public areas, and encourage guests to sanitize often.
The cruise line maintains an elevated standard of sanitization.
We are in constant communication with the cruise line for all developing situations. Any port of call closer to the sailing date that presents a risk to the crew, staff, and guests, will be re-directed by the cruise line in a timely manner to keep the itinerary of the cruise safe for everyone. As we receive information, we will keep you abreast of any changes.
